The total number of streams for this song for the week commencing 21/09/23 in countries where it ranks as the most streamed, including Malaysia, Thailand, and South Korea, is more than 18.5 million.

2. Drake - Slime You Out (ft. SZA)

And coming in second place, we have “Slime You Out” by Canadian rapper and singer Drake, which features American singer-songwriter SZA. It was released on September 15, 2023, as a single for Drake’s upcoming album For All The Dogs. It also peaked at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Billboard. The total number of streams where the song ranked as the most streamed, including the US and Canada, is more than 15.6 million.

3. Anirudh Ravichander - Chaleya (ft. Arijit Singh, Shilpa Rao)

His recent single, “Seven”, simultaneously debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100, the Global 200 and the Global Excl. US charts, making him the first solo Korean artist to do so. He was also the first South Korean artist to release an official song for the FIFA World Cup, with “Dreamers”, which he also performed at the 2022 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony.

2. Drake

Coming in as the most featured artist and the UK’s number one streamed Spotify song, we have American rapper and singer Doja Cat. Her song “Paint The Town Red” appeared as the number one most streamed song in 12 countries, including the UK, Australia and Belgium.

2. Jungkook

Number of Countries Ranked as Number One: 7

Once again, we have Jungkook, this time ranking as the second-most featured artist across different countries’ number one spot on Spotify. His song “Seven” ranked as the most listened-to song on Spotify in seven countries, including Singapore, South Korea and Thailand.

3. Myke Towers

Number of Countries Ranked as Number One: 5

In third place, we have Puerto Rican rapper, singer and songwriter Myke Towers for the most featured artist in the country’s number-one spot on Spotify. Towers’ song “LALA” ranked as the most-listened song on Spotify in five countries, including Peru, the Dominican Republic and Honduras.

Often considered the most popular music genre in the world, we have pop ranking as the number one most streamed music genre on Spotify. Across the 30 songs that ranked number one in the countries we looked at, pop amassed more than 46.1 million streams on Spotify for the week commencing 21/09/23.

2. Hip-Hop

Total Number of Streams for WC 21/09/2023: 26,513,156

Hip-hop is the second most streamed music genre on Spotify for the week commencing 21/09/23. With 13 songs in the genre coming in as the number one most streamed in different countries, including France, the US and Canada, hip-hop has over 26.5 million streams.

3. Latin Urban

Total Number of Streams for WC 21/09/2023: 25,139,296

Coming in as the third-most streamed music genre on Spotify is Latin Urban, with over 25.1 million streams. Latin Urban is a transnational umbrella category encompassing Latin hip-hop, urban champeta and funk carioca, amongst other genres.

Methodology

To begin, we took the number one most streamed song in each country listed on Kworb’s Spotify charts for the week commencing 21/09/2023. We recorded the song name, artist name, and number of streams for the week. We then used Wikipedia to find the primary genre for each song.

We were then able to determine the most streamed songs in that period by adding the total number of streams for the week on Spotify. We then did the same to determine the most streamed artists and genres.

For the most featured artists, we simply added up how many different countries each artist ranked at the number one most streamed on Spotify for the week commencing 21/09/2023.
